Privacy Policy

Introduction

SYPNow ("we", "us") operates sypnow.com and the SYPNow mobile application. This policy explains what limited data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can delete it.

We do not require accounts, and we do not sell personal data.

What we collect

When you use the website, standard server logs may include IP address, user agent, and requested URL for security and reliability.

When you use the mobile app, we may collect:

  • A random device UUID generated on your device (not an advertising ID or hardware identifier)
  • A push notification token if you enable rate alerts
  • Alert preferences you create (currency pair, condition, threshold)
  • App version, platform (iOS/Android), locale, and optional timezone
  • An advertising ID, used by Google AdMob to show ads in the mobile app — see “Advertising” below
  • No accounts, no name, no email (unless you contact us), and no precise location

How we use data

Device UUID and push token are used solely to deliver user-configured rate alerts and to rate-limit API requests fairly across carrier NATs.

Server logs are used to keep the service secure and diagnose outages.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. Push tokens are sent to Expo's push service solely to deliver notifications you requested.

Third-party market data sources (for example sp-today, open.er-api.com, goldprice.org, CoinGecko) are queried by our servers; your device identity is not shared with them.

Advertising

The SYPNow mobile app shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve them, Google's ad SDK may use your device's advertising ID, an approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address, and basic device and app information. SYPNow's own servers do not receive that data.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change that choice at any time from the consent screen in the app. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are served.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings — Android: Settings › Privacy › Ads; iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Google's own policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Retention

Alert and device records are kept while alerts remain enabled or until you delete them. Inactive devices may be removed after prolonged inactivity.

Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations.

Deletion

In the app, disable or delete your alerts at any time. Deleting all alerts and uninstalling the app stops further collection tied to that device UUID.

You may also email contact@sypnow.com with your device ID (shown in Settings) to request deletion of device and alert records.

Security

Data in transit uses HTTPS. Access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

Children

SYPNow is a general-audience informational service and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
